I was diagnosed with Restless Legs Syndrome about 4 years ago (age 33) and until then just figured that _everyone_ had tickling/crawling sensations in their legs. Silly now that I think back on it, but I guess that's part of the denial that many of us go through when we start to recognize dysfunctions in our bodies.
This post introduces my history and first-hand experience with RLS. Please read it to learn of my hopes and aspirations for this website, as well as how you can help raise awareness of this disorder and help the world someday find a cure.
I chose RestlessLimbs.com for this website because RLS for me extends up into my arms and hands, so it has truly become a restless limb situation and not just restless legs. I have had this disorder since as far back as I can remember as a child - often squirming in the backseat of the car on the way home from church, or jerking my leg every few minutes in the movie theatre to relieve the tickling/crawling sensations I was feeling.
